It’s National Nutrition Month!

“Bite into a Healthy Lifestyle”—This Months’ National Nutrition Month® Theme!

March is National Nutrition Month® and this year the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is encouraging all of us to “Bite into a Healthy Lifestyle.”

What does that mean exactly?

Optimal health is a life-long commitment to eating right and exercising regularly. This month we’re encouraged to focus on our health and what we can do to build a healthy lifestyle.

A few ways you can “Bite into a Healthy Lifestyle”:

  1. Make Smart Food Choices – A healthy lifestyle is about so much more than just choosing to eat more fruits and vegetables. It’s about learning what your body needs and knowing how to fuel it.
  2. Get Plenty of Activity – Daily physical activity is a crucial part of a healthy lifestyle, and unfortunately most of us don’t get enough exercise in our daily routines. Regular physical activity strengthens bones and muscles, and reduces the risk of chronic illness.
  3. Get Some Help – Registered Dietitians are able to help you find a tailored eating plan that will help you reach and maintain a healthy weight and reduce your risk for chronic diseases.
