Parents play a vital role in encouraging children to live an active, healthy lifestyle.

It is important for children to eat a heart healthy, well-balanced diet. In addition, they should participate in at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day; such as walking, swimming, inline skating, jumping roping, dancing, etc. Parents can set a positive example by eating well and being active themselves. Parents who encourage and endorse a heart healthy lifestyle are more likely to pass on these good habits to their children.
