Eat Your Vegetables!

June 17th is Eat Your Vegetables Day!

Although this day only comes along once per year, we all know eating vegetables should be done EVERYday!

For those of you who might not love your veggies, we’ve got some great ways to sneak them in to your diet.
  1. Add veggies into recipes that you already love! Swap sliced zucchini for lasagna noodles, add broccoli florets to your mac and cheese, bulk up soups with celery, peppers, tomatoes and onions, or puree squash and use it as a soup base. Click here for more recipes
  2. Serve them on a platter. Cut vegetables into slices and serve them with hummus, onion dip, or low-calorie dressing. Vegetable dip recipes
  3. Drink your vegetables. Think smoothies or even grab a V8. Smoothie recipes
  4. Throw them on the grill. Grilling vegetables brings out their rich flavor and adds a bit of smoky flavor. Grill eggplant, peppers, tomatoes, onions, and squash for a great side dish. Grilled vegetable recipes
  5. Put them on pizza. Everyone loves pizza so adding a few veggies on top is the perfect way to add in some veggies to food we all love!
Eating vegetables is vital to good health. Start with sneaking veggies in just one meal a day and eventually you’ll be a veggie lover!
