Celebrate With Us!

Savor the flavor of eating right!

 What is National Nutrition Month®?

Every year in March, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics creates a nutrition education and information campaign to promote the importance of making informed food choices and creating healthy eating and exercise habits.

What is the 2016 theme and what does it mean?

“Savor the Flavor of Eating Right.” It means to take time to enjoy food and appreciate the pleasures, flavors, and social experiences that food can add to our lives.

How will the Children’s Heart Center celebrate National Nutrition Month® this year?

The Registered Dietitians for the Healthy Hearts Program will be giving a cooking demonstration (for patients enrolled in the 12 week program) on a featured healthy recipe for the following dates:

  • March 3, 2016 – Overnight Oats
  • March 8, 2016 – Avocado Ranch Dip
  • March 18, 2016 – Grain Bowls
  • March 21, 2016 – No-Cook Energy Bites
  • March 30, 2016 – Pizza

*Recipes for the cooking demonstration will be posted on the Children’s Heart Center website and Facebook page.
